Portrait of Donald S. Rawson.

Half-tone portrait of Donald S. Rawson, PHD, F.R.S.C., professor of zoology and head of biology dept. at University of Saskatchewan from 1946 to 1961, when he died. Was Fellow of Royal Society of Canada, member of Fisheries Research Board and known as outstanding limnologist. Born May 19, 1905 in Uxbridge, Ont. In 1929 organized wrestling club at University of Saskatchewan, and was active in organizing wrestling events. Rawson Bay, in Nemeiben Lake near Lac La Ronge, likely named after him. In Sask Sports Hall of Fame, as well as Rawson Crescent in Saskatoon.

Portrait of Gord Garvie.

Portrait of Gord Garvie wrestling and football star at University of Saskatchewan. He graduated from Nutana Collegiate and entered University of Saskatchewan in fall 1964. While a student, he captured several wrestling titles and championships, and was on Canada's wrestling team at Olympic Games in Mexico City, 1968, and was a member of the National Wrestling Team. He coached the 1976 Olympic team. He was on Huskie football team 4 years, and selected to Western All-Star team three times. He was league's Most Valuable Player in 1967 and won Eikent Phillips trophy as University's Outstanding Male Athlete.
