  About this display

For more than two decades, the Saskatoon Public Library Local History Room has mounted photographic exhibitions during February’s Heritage Month. These displays have increased public awareness of Saskatoon’s history, showcased the Local History Room’s photographic holdings, and resulted in significant discoveries. To date, the exhibitions have been physical, local and transient. In the year of Saskatoon’s centennial celebrations, the Local History Room has raised these exhibitions to the next level, making them virtual, remotely accessible and enduring.

Saskatoon Through the Ages explores the photographic record of Saskatoon’s people, places and events that have shaped and defined Saskatoon over the past 100 years. Consisting of twelve thematic “rooms”, the website incorporates approximately 400 photographs and profiles a diverse range of themes, photographic styles and time periods.
